The NCCA support and have associations with many organisations. The following
list of organisations either support or are supported by the NCCA and co-operate
with us to achieve mutual goals. It should be noted that not all these
organisations are non-profit. |

IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification)
The IICRC was formed in 1972 to serve as an independent, non-profit
certification body, to set and promote high standards and ethics and to advance
communication and technical proficiency within the inspection, cleaning and
restoration service industry. Based in the United States of America, the IICRC
is represented across much of the western world.

The IICRC is a standards and certification body and not a trade association. It
consequently has no members. It does however have “registrants”. Registrants are
individuals who have taken and passed IICRC courses and exams.
There are currently seventeen certifications including:

- Carpet Cleaning Technician
- Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician
- Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician

The IICRC are owned by regional, national and international trade associations
including the (UK’s) National Carpet Cleaners Association. Each entity owns a
block of 500 shares and has one vote on the Board of Directors. No one has
controlling interest. Through its shareholding, the NCCA is able to influence
international standards in the cleaning and restoration industry.
The NCCA is an approved IICRC school. |

The British Cleaning Council National
|
|
The British Cleaning Council is the voice of the whole UK cleaning industry. It
was established in 1982 to coordinate the affairs of the industry and to be
responsible at home and abroad on industry matters.

The council provides a forum for members to meet and work together to raise the
profile of the industry and help it gain the credibility it deserves. It also
promotes and encourages improvements in health, hygiene and general cleanliness
standards.
The NCCA is one of 16 members of the BCC. |

Woolsafe
|
|
The
WOOLSAFE Organisation is a world-wide organisation dedicated to the promotion of
quality care for wool carpets and rugs through the testing and approval of
carpet maintenance products and the training and accreditation of carpet
cleaning companies. It is a resource for information about carpets and carpet
care, based in the UK and with offices in North America, Europe and Australia. |

The NCCA supports the aims and objectives of The Woolsafe Organisation. It
frequently co-operates with the Woolsafe organisation in mutually beneficial
programmes. NCCA members are encouraged to participate and join in the Woolsafe
programme.

To become a Woolsafe certified technician, candidates must be fully trained in
all carpet cleaning techniques, have been in business continuously for a period
of at least 5 years and industry.
They must attend a WOOLSAFE training course,
pass the exit exam and meet other requirements relating to their business and
professional associations.
Woolsafe approved technicians are able to display this logo. |

The Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers
|

The AMUSF Founded in 1947 is a Trade Association for the soft furnishing and
upholstery sector in the United Kingdom.
AMU and NCCA work together to address upholstery related maintenance issues.

Federation of Window Cleaners
|
|
Having been established for over half a century, the National Federation of Master Window and General Cleaners has decided through consultation with its membership and other industry representatives, that it is time to modify its image to reflect the changes within the industry.
As a result it has changed its name and adopted a new logo.

The federation is an authoritative organisation specifically concerned with the window cleaning industry and its subsidiary services, and now includes general cleaners.

The British Institute of Cleaning Science
|

The Institute, which is headquartered in Northampton, is the largest
independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry.
Founded in 1961, its mission is ‘the raising of status and standards of the
cleaning industry, through education’. The BICSc, as it is known, is not a Trade
Association but an independent body with members in all areas of the cleaning
industry, including Local Authorities, Contract Cleaners, Manufacturers,
Suppliers, Trainers and by no means least, cleaning operatives themselves.
BICSc is a member of The British Cleaning Council as is the NCCA.

The Carpet Foundation
The Carpet Foundation represents the premier group of British based carpet
manufacturers on a technical and promotional basis, who between them produce 60%
of all carpets made in the UK amounting to £350 million sales and collectively
with more than 1,000 years of carpet manufacturing experience.

National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers
|

The N.I.C.F is an association of professional carpet and floorlayers they
promote excellence in the field of carpet and floorlaying and offer their
members and relevant industry organizations a range of benefits, products and
services.

British Carpet Technical Centre
|
|
BCTC-CAMRASO was set up in 1988 with the merger of the British Carpet Technical
Centre and the Cleaning and Maintenance Research and Services Organisation. BCTC
provides services to the carpet industry whilst CAMRASO offers a wide range of
technical services to the cleaning and maintenance industry.

BCTC-CAMRASO offers independent testing and investigation services including
site surveys, preparation of cleaning specifications, cleaning quality
monitoring and settlement of disputes. Specific areas of expertise cover
hospital carpets and testing of vacuum cleaners.
