NCCA recognised by TrustMark

The NCCA is very pleased to announce that we are now officially recognised by TrustMark.

Trustmark is the Government endorsed initiative to help consumers find reliable and trustworthy local tradespeople to carry out repairs and maintenance within and outside the home. It is widely supported by consumer protection organisations, local Trading Standards authorities and the Office of Fair Trading.

The scheme was initially put in place with the support of the construction industry, to assist consumers in finding reputable builders and construction service providers following concerns and increased awareness of rogue and unqualified tradespeople. Since then Trustmark has expanded its criteria and includes coverage for many more industries. The NCCA recently began work on a proposal for approval within the scheme for the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry and can now confirm that we are the recognised organisation for Trustmark registered companies in this sector.

Trustmark ensures all registered tradespeople fulfil a strict set of criteria including checks of technical competence, financial status, insurance cover, complaints procedure, working to Government endorsed standards, quality of work, trading practices and customer satisfaction. All of these requirements are in line with the NCCA's Code of Practice and objectives for minimum standards within our industry, so it was very important for the Association to become involved with Trustmark and expand our scope to further promote the members who already meet the above requirements and work to our motto: "Service with Integrity".

The Government and official organisations backing the Trustmark scheme have recognised the benefits of companies in this industry being registered with the NCCA and operating to the standards established by the Association. At the present time Trustmark approval can only be achieved by NCCA members. These companies also must fulfil specific criteria beyond the standard requirements for membership, including time served with the Association, training qualifications, health and safety policies and insurance cover.

NCCA members provide coverage for all aspects of the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry including specialist services such as hard floor cleaning, leather restoration, carpet repairs, fitting/reinstallation, disaster restoration and rug cleaning. Some members have already taken the steps to become Trustmark approved and their entry on the NCCA website will include the logo displayed here.
